This Scagel style hunter has a 5" blade made of 1095. The handle is made of leather and whitetail antler, with a guard and spacers of nickel silver. The dang thing was sharp enough to lay open my thumb to the tune of 6 stitches and $150.00 co pay. Drop by table 19M at the Blade Show and I'll show you the knife and the stitches

Scagel influenced, but definitely your own. Looks great, I like it about the same as that bowie you posted.

Looks great!

Let me let you in on a little Knife Making trade secret. "SUPER GLUE"!!! It was originally developed for Air Crew members who had no access to a Dr. in flight. It does a fantastic job of fixing up the typical Knife Maker cuts!

Net thing is, it seals off the nerve endings, seals out contaminates. You can squirt lemon juice on a cut right after gluing, with no pain! And no scars. Not even from the cut it's self. You will have to re-apply several times. Just make sure the bleeding has stopped before applying. You don't want the glue hardening in the blood stream! This is why it has never been marketed in the U.S. for the general public. Although it is in many parts of Europe.

I have used it literally hundreds of times over the thirty plus years in the Knife business. In fact, I keep a bottle on the table at shows for the customers. Lovett Knives tend to be a bit "SHARP"!:D

I have used super glue on some pretty good cuts too. It has always worked great. This wasn't a superglue type of cut in my opinion. It didn't look like it wanted to stop bleeding, so since it was my thumb and not Charlie's, I thought we should take it to the hospital. There are no flies on 1095 as far as taking an edge.
