I believe his knives were entirely hand finished therefore the numbers are low! Randall knives are the largest collector of Scagel knives. They should have a great amount of info if you need more.
Yes, hundreds during his 50+ year career. He made many simple "five dollar knives" for hunters and outdoorsmen. He also made lots of plain kitchen cutlery in addition to the big beautiful camp knives, fighters and folding knives that have been preserved in collections. And, he made a lot of other stuff too:

Also tons of other blades, decorative iron work, pots, pans, beer steins, plant holders, weather vanes, coat racks etc. Scagel worked more or less continuously and his output was impressive.
I'm not sure anyone would really know for sure, but if anyone could even come close it would be Dr. Jim Lucie.Dr. Lucie was Scagel's Dr. and friend for many years in his later life, and also a maker in Scagel style knives.
