Gentlemen

I need some good pictures or link to sites where I can see some real cool Scagel knives.

I know Treeman knives but are looking for other sources.

Cheers,

André

those Greco knives are VERY reasonable price wise. How is the steel in them. Esav do you own any? let me know.

I own two folders and a hatchet. The folders are so tough they are hard to use, framelocks, but they are probably as durable as any folders on the market.

The edge on folders and hatchet is excellent. I did reduce the angle on the folders. The hatchet got a bit of hard use and still shaved.

i don't have any of the regular knives, but going by the ones I've used and the ones I own, they will hold up forever and can get very sharp.

I just went through his website again last night, and was surprised at how low some of the prices were myself.

Another example of how good PJ Tomes is at making scagels. If you go to Ebay and do a search on Tomes Knife, An original william scagel knife will show up. After talking to PJ about it I found out that the handle on that knife was damaged and the owner wanted as close to an authentic replacement handle as possible. He brought the knife to PJ to rehandle, so the blade is William Scagels but the handle is PJ Tomes. It was a great compliment to PJ that they wanted him to do the replacement.

Be aware of what you are looking at. Many knife artists make true reproductions, but many others also make Scagel inspired knives. Good Luck!
(I'm sure you probably knew this already)
