I had posted this in the "what do you have on order thread" and was asked to provide a little feedback on it.

Without exaggerating, I would say this is the finest factory knife I have owned, and rivals many of my customs for fit, finish and feel. This is an extremely well put together knife and arrived shaving sharp. This has to be the finest knife I have seen Bark River produce. I have not put it to use other than shaving some newsprint and putting a strop to it. The sheath is also of equally high standards. I will let the pics speak for themselves, but if you are sitting on the fence debating whether to get one, don't debate, just do it. You will not regret it.

Beautiful knife.

I could make room for one of those around my place.

One day I'm getting a Scagel reproduction.

Wow that is gorgeous a real looker I would be afraid to use it. You sir have impeccable taste going on my wish list.

That's a superb looking knife. I agree it would take some nerve to use, but the blade profile looks like it's made with use in mind. A2 is a steel I've been wanting to try for a while. It looks grand.

I have been looking at those for quite some time, Mink. And that is pretty much the exact configuration I'm most interested in. Glad to hear you are extremely pleased with it. It makes my (eventual) decision a little easier...

I still burn some time on KSF looking at these. I want one. I'd like to get the large bowie matched with the med hunter.

Very beautiful knife ! And classic as ever. Older shape than anything current. Really beautiful. The finger guard could be replaced by a slightly protruding allround oval guard. Just me.

Wow, that sure is a beauty! I think I'm in love.
BRKT has my utmost respect, and I think their products are top notch. That one appears to be no exception. Just gorgeous. Now sitting near the top of my "WANT" list.

Scagel bowies. Large and medium. These are by far the most beautifully crafted knives that have come out of Bark River Knife & Tool. They are safe queens for now. I've been waiting for Derrick to pull the trigger on the small Scagel bowie to complete the set. It has been off and on the production schedule at Bark River for almost three years.

Derrick owns the Scagel name & rights. He has to give Mike Stewart at Bark River the go ahead to produce the small bowie.

Thanks for the review. I've been eying that pattern for some time... I need to pull the trigger before its too late.

Good looking blades Tom, thanks for sharing.

Trand, you really should. The available handle options seem to dwindle by the day.

The Scagel Large Bowie is one massive knife!
