I just finished this hunter up and thought I'd post it. It has the stacked leather spacers that Scagel is so known for along with some bronze, stag, and a number of spacers. The blade is 4 inches or so which I forged from 5160 steel. There is a filed and hammered arrow head on the spine of the ricasso.

sweet little gem of a knife! I like the MS font particularly.

The lines on this little hunter are modern, the materials traditional as they come, the Scagel reference appropriate.

Lin is showing us wide ranging talent and new looks at styles from D-Guards, to Sub-hilts, to hunters.

What a Dude!

I agree John. You are never sure what will show up, but you can be sure it will be executed exceptionally. I love it Lin, would Scagel be making something like this if he were alive? Probably, but he would love this.

Thank you fellas. I do indeed enjoy trying the different types of knives. Thank you again.

Very nice little unit. Particularly like the width and colour combination in the spacers. Can look horrid if you get it wrong, I know cause I've done it.

Lin,

I really enjoy the diversity in your knives and I agree that the workmanship is always impeccable no matter what the style of knife.

Thanks for sharing.

That's a terrific hunter in any era. Beautiful lines.

As far as the Scagel style, influence, etc......one of the best and most visually appealing I have ever seen.

Well done Lin.

Thanks again.

While I appreciate the knives Mr Scagel made and even more so considering that he made them with more primitive tools than I commonly use, I don't like some of the lines on some of his work. Most are very appealing but some just don't look good to me. I do like the spacer look and wanted to borrow that and a touch of "leaf shape" for the blade to make this one. There is also the arrow head filed on the spine to really offer tribute to Mr Scagel.
