I keep comming back to stare at this. I gotta say that your top pic has
one of the nicest "straight on" hamon shots I've seen in a while, showing so much of it's vivid activity while still keeping a nice & warm lighting over the rest of the knife and image. I love the curves you gave the choil, it really adds a lot of character and style to the blade. The rustic treatment you gave the antler is so rich and warm and really goes great on this style of knife. The red G10 and brass also tie everything together very nicely, keeping with the "warm" look. I really like the guard too, I just love flared guards when they're done "right", as this one is. But that blade shape, and just the overall profile are pefect, IMHO, and of course the sheath is beatifully made as well.
It's funny, for years I honestly disliked the Scagel style, as well as "most" stacked material handles, but within the last couple of months it's really begun to grow on me, enough to even want to have a go at making one myself sometime.
Thanks for sharing, this one's been saved to my "inspirational knives" album on my pc, which is just about all out of hard drive space lol, so take that for what it's worth.
