Well swapped out my scale on my XM18 today for the first time. Thought I had this as the youtube video looked easy enough. Long story short the knife fell apart into all of its pieces. The good news is that I figured out how to put it all back together. It was for sure a little harder than the video showed.

I change my scale every week. If you don't place your finger along the back of the knife it'll fall apart. Well the barrel nuts will fall out.

I think it's easier to remove the clip before you change the scale. Therefore you can lay the knife flat and the stuff won't fall out ;)

Found that out real quick. Now that I have done it I will have no problem next time.

One trick I use is to apply blue tape to the backside of the knife so the nuts stay in place. I also lock open the blade during assembly once the liner is in place. Doing this keep everything together and allows me to place the g10 scale on very easily.

It gets much easier after you've done it a couple times. :)
