I talked to Garth today about getting some new scales on my AMS, the black g10 with the black blade is a little too tacticool for me but I love the size and shape of the knife. So I decided that I am going to probably go with green and black g10, strip the coating and add some liners. What liners should I go with on this? Anyone have pictures of an AMS with liners and green/black g10? This will be a user if that sways anyones opinions one way or another.

Thanks for all the help!

My choice for black blade with green & black G10 would most likely be green liners, or if you want some contrast maybe gray.

I'd go for black canvas if it's a user. What liner color options are there?

I am going to strip the blade most likely when I get it back so pretend like it's not there. Liner colors are: gray, black, white, yellow, blue, red, and green I believe. I think orange used to be an option but not anymore

Here's a picture of the liners which Garth posted a while ago, but you'll want to check with the shop for availability.

I would choose green liners with the green and black G10.

I would choose either the green or the grey liners with the Green/Black G10 and a stripped blade.

I have a hand shaped green black g1-10 with yellow double liners. If you send me an email. I 'll send you a pic.

Thanks for the suggestions so far! Pics are much appreciated :) Really pictures of black and green g10 with liners would be appreciated! Not just the AMS!

I thought about it Psyop. But I told myself I would spend $100 on it making it more "me" and I still have to get a sheath. Getting it double cut would put me way over my budget. It would either be: leave the scales as is and double cut, or, change the scales and add liner then strip myself.

Black and green G10 looks good, but black canvas is hard to beat as well.

This is black canvas

Yes I have big hands. The AMS has plenty of length for me, but it does seem a bit thin. I haven't handled one with liners but it probably would feel a little better.

Dont remeber hearing but does anyone know how the stripper would affect the liners?

In that same thread Demonic1 pulled the pics from Garth said what they were made from...I dont know.

Stripper shouldn't hurt them... The AMS was thin for me too... but the Mil overrun was fine :)

original thread is here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...dle-liner-colors?highlight=garth+liners+color

Paper based fiber board similar to paper micarta.

Garth

Does both at the same time. It brings some excitement to the handles and adds approx. .080" to the overall handle thickness. Liners can also be doubled up to create more color in the handle or add additional thickness if desired.
