scales separation

Any way to salvage a black vulcanized fiber plus wood scale that has a small separation from the tang about 1/4 inch long and about a thin fingernail width wide? I put it on with epoxy and am thinking about using actone to soten the glue, will this work?

i don't think acetone will soften the epoxy onde it's hard. You could try a thin super glue and clamp the heck out of that area. Be careful of marking the wood.

You can put it in a heated oven 250% for 1/2-1 hour and the epoxy will release,if thats what you are trying to do.Dont do this w/handle that w/ give off toxic fumes,like micarta etc.
