scallion warranty question

The tip lock on my Scallion has broken: the plastic bar that spans the frame sheared off from the flat bit that holds the thumb slide. Is this something Kershaw covers under warranty, or does it normally take some abuse to break that?

I have a tendency to strip screws, so I'd rather not repair it myself; but if someone can reassure me that it is the sort of thing Kershaw can fix under warranty BEFORE I send it in, I would appreciate it.

I believe they would fix it. Its very very easy to do yourself and they will send you the parts for free. I am sure someone around here has much better knowledge of the warranty service than I do.

Edit-

Ok I found this on the warranty part of kershaws website:

Can I have a part sent to me?

Yes, but blades will NOT be sent out. If your knife is in need of more than one part or requiring work on the blade, you are welcome to send it in for warranty service free of charge. Otherwise, use the "Contact Us" form to request parts. Remember that parts are specific to each knife model, so please make sure the model number is included in your request for parts. You can locate the four digit model number on the blade or handle.

So from the wording of that I would say they would fix that part for free if you send it to them. They will also sharpen your knife for free if you send it in.

My scallion plastic blade lock broke some how and kershaw sent me a new one no charge. It was the easiest thing to fix, I did it myself. Also I broke the blade tip on my Blackout. Kershaw would not send me a blade but said send it in, they would do it as warranty.

I got back a NEW KNIFE. !! ( in 4 days !)

Kershaw has fantastic customer service, i have 100% confidence in it !!

Does that answer your question ??
