Scallion

Is a Scallion a decent knife just for everyday use,cutting boxes open,cutting the serving on a bowstring, etc.. does it hold an edge?

It's a very decent knife and makes for a good small EDC. I carried one for a couple of years and found it kept an edge adequately and sharpened up easily.
