I want to tell you how to quickly and inexpensively make at home for a small plastic knife and other utilitarian tasks from the wreckage of the blade and the materials at hand. For this we need: the broken or chopped off the tip of the blade (approximately 15 - 20 mm), thick stick or a pencil on the shaft, and a piece of tube (sleeve) to manufacture.

NICE Kart !

Hey all . . . here's a wood worker dude tip :
Put the stick where it will get dry as a bone for hours (or days better yet ) (near a stove etc.).
then
shave or sand the stick so it fits snug in the ferrule.
then
put 'er together. When the normal atmosphere where you live permeates the stick the added moisture will swell the wood tight into the ferrule.

PS: ha, ha when I first looked at your post I just saw the top photo of the blade in the hand vise for grinding and I thought that was the "scalpel". I thought . . . HMMM . . . must be a Viking scalpel.
Ha, ha, ha.

Pretty cool stuff. My dad sells medical supplies so I pretty much got all the scalpels I need on tap, but for the guy who doesn't, this is a great idea.
