Heres one I made out of some scraps. Was about to chuck the steel into the trash when I got the idea.
specs: 6" OAL,1.25" blade,440C,rosewood scales, brass pins

The filework turned out kind of crappy for some reason, but it was fun.
(sorry for the dark pics, I'm still figuring that part of it out)

tried a little vine pattern, I usually can do a better job with this pattern :(

I'm gettin better with my mark though, usin some different tools and have a good deal of practice with it now.

Overall I don't think its too bad for an afternoons work :)

That filework looks fine to me. I know one side doesn't match the other, but sometimes I prefer it when something isn't perfect.

What a great idea for a knife. I would be willing to bet that it would be good for most of the tasks that a person uses a knife for every day.

It was an interesting project. Kind of came about as a joke after teasing a friend of mine about assisting in her first surgery in vet school. With the open filework and rosewood handle I'd say its more suited to boxes and envelopes than cats and dogs though :eek:
