Recieved this Email a few days ago and am trying to determine if it is Legit:

I'm a Belgian instructor in survival, small arms combat techniques and tactics. I give a lot of lessons to military people and I evaluate a lot of survival gear.

My question is: Is it possible to send me an evaluation sample, I like the usk bowie the most.

I want to evaluate it during my survival courses, now we are using another item in the course(and we want to replace it possible by yours).

This is also a good advertisement for your company, when I evaluate it with my crew. I can send you feedback if you want. Looking forward hearing from you.
Kind regards,

Has anyone else dealt or know of this person? Tried to return the Email but keeps getting rejected.

I remember seeing a thread about this a while back, and I believe the consensus was that it was a scam, but I'm not 100% sure.

I'll see if I can dig that thread up.

I would see if you can "google" his name and see what there is to see.
Baring that, or also send him a reply asking for info on his "survival courses", again see what there is to see..../ al

Robert, I can't find anything in Google, not to say that everyone is online, but still, you think there would be at least someone telling a story about his training.
The first thing that caught me was the fact that your emails bounce back.
take care, Steve

Robert,
Got the same e-mail a few days ago....and I seem to remember a similar one a year or two ago.
The only "tactical" style knife I have done in several years was as a gift to a friend before he headed out to Iraq.

I don't know, but took it as a potential scam and deleted the message.

Robert, I also got the same email a few days. If you ask me, pure bullshit.

I got the same one also. When I replied to the email asking to see his credentials, it bounced back.

Again sorry to all who received a mail concerning my private address. I have deleted my email address and I am now using a new one. Hopefully we are now all spared from such e-mails. My apoligies to all.

Robert,

I attended the Belgian Survival school in 95', it is held in a castle that has a unique name and history. If it is needed I can give you the name, although this would not be a perfect test, I am not sure but it may be well known there.

Thanks my friends!
Always give the benefit of doubt up front unless it takes food out of my house:eek:
He is Blacklisted and hopefully this will alert other makers to be aware!

I got the same one a couple of days ago. I informed him that my country was at war in a couple of very harsh places and a few
of my knives were already (being evaulated) by my service men. It got bounced back to me. Laurence

I don't have to check anywhere to help me decide if it is a scam or not. At the very least he is trying to scam you out of a knife even if he does "evaluate" it. What a con!

I posted a thread about this guy also. Someone seems to be personalizing these emails a bit, the one I received he was interested in a hunter. The guy actually responded to my post and said someone else is using his email address. Hopefully it will be taken care of but at least he is well known here.
