Scammer got my email

I agreed to buy something from the classifieds, but just said I’ll take it. I ones the seller and paid him. I got an email from someone claiming to be the seller. How did they get my email?

Try doing a forum wide search for your email address and see if you’ve posted it at some point.

I just searched for posts by joesrx with ".com" in them and quickly found a 2015 sales thread with your email. It shows that you edited the post today to remove it, but it's still visible since the seller quoted you in the next post.
