Last week I purchased a large schrade outback stated as a schrade USA in the listing. When I received it, the box was the only thing USA, the knife had nothing on the blade. This is the second time in a row I've been taken in the last two weeks. Of course I emailed the pinhead but I probably won't hear from "it". Too bad there isn't some way to warn buyers about these crooks before you bid!
My next course of action is complain to sleezebay. Oh by the way, I should have checked this jerks feedback, it seems its been done several times before. Shame on me! Tom:mad:

It has happened to most of us here Tom. For our edification and mutual education, what was the auction number so that we can see for ourselves?

I've had a "fun" experience this past few days myself. I have well over 400 eBay transactions, all with perfect feedback. I've only been ripped off once by a con artist who scammed quite a few people at once then took the money and ran. Well, this past Sunday I logged on to find out that a seller had filed a "dispute" with me. Two actually.

Back on February 21st, I won two actions back-to-back from the same seller. When I went thru checkout, they did not have a mailing address listed, so I had to eMail them and ask for one (note to all sellers: if you accept payments other than by electronic means, for Pete's sake list your flipping address!). On the 22nd, the seller responded, so on the next day, the 23rd, I sent off my USPS money order via priority mail. Yeah, an extra $4.60 but it hasn't failed me yet and the mailer is big enough and graphic enough that the recipient can't miss it in their junk mail. I always include a copy of the seller's invoice also with my address, theirs, and the auction numbers.

So then Sunday I get this "non-paying bidder dispute" notice. WTF!!!? I answered it nicely of course. Recounted the details of the transaction, money order number, etc. Seller didn't respond. So today, Tuesday, I emailed the seller direct and offered to try for a resolution. They replied. Payment received today and they would ship today. Dispute is still filed and stares at me like a speeding ticket every time I log in to eBay. "LEAVE CODGER ALONE!!", to paraphrase Chris Crocker.

Count Trent in on that elite group!!!
I just chalked it up as a learning lesson
It was like the first few days I started buying knives on EBAY
Gotta be an informed consumer ya know ;)

It didn't say MADE IN USA in the ad
(The dude did email me before the auction ended and after I had BID on it===>"just wanted to let you know that this is a Taylor LLC knife...If you don't want it that's fine...")
(So that was a class act on the sellers part )
But...NOTE the American flag on the box
That my friend is PURE BS!!!
I got SOME beef with MR. Taylor regarding that AMERICAN FLAG on the box
Deceive \De*ceive"\, v.
Deceive is a general word applicable to any kind of misrepresentation affecting faith or life. To delude, primarily, is to make sport of, by deceiving, and is accomplished by playing upon one's imagination or credulity, as by exciting false hopes, causing him to undertake or expect what is impracticable, and making his failure ridiculous. It implies some infirmity of judgment in the victim, and intention to deceive in the deluder. But it is often used reflexively, indicating that a person's own weakness has made him the sport of others or of fortune; as, he deluded himself with a belief that luck would always favor him. To mislead is to lead, guide, or direct in a wrong way, either willfully or ignorantly.
I tried selling this on EBAY for $4.20 and it didn't sell :jerkit:
I guess we all know the fair market value of Taylor Schrade knives by now ;)
I will probably give it away as a gift....

But we keep hearing from new knife owners and knife industry experts that the Taylor imported Chinese knives are equal, if not better, in quality of materials and workmanship than the knives made by Imperial Schrade in Ellenville! Are you saying that this example is less than acceptible in quality?

1)The brass liner lock thingy doesn't "automatically" engage
I have to manually push the brass with my thumb to put it in the locked position

2)The bail is on TOOO tight
It doesn't swing freely

3)The handle rivets are RAISED about .5mm
I like my rivet semi flat to the handle

4) For a NEW in box knife it's not very sharp

5)The bolsters look like CHEAP brass
It's not even really a brass color
It looks like a VERY light brownish/beigge color

Knowing what I know now Trent puts the max value if this knife at about $3.10.....

..you ought to see the Chinneeee Wake and Lawker SLW2 @$3.99...why would anyone bother making them at those prices...is he a knife benefactor..i.e. every person on earth should have someting that roughly resembles a Schrade knife??..with the emphasis on roughly and not knife. Hoo Roo

Even though several of us have been ripped off, it still feels lonely out here! The number everyone can look up is: 130200315104. Enjoy the trip to scammer land.

It wasn't over a Schrade, but I had a beef with your rwmandson guy over a year ago. It was over a very cheap, but misrepresented USA knife (not the same box as his auction picture, and had China on the Blade) that was broken, so I did not give negative feedback in fear of retaliatory neg feedback. He never answered three emails. I blew it off. In your case it is pretty blatant. If you paid with PayPal, file a claim. If he doesn't contest it, you will get your money back. I didn't know how that worked back then or I would have done it, out of principle. I notice he sells the Outback knife often, sometimes listing it as an Old Timer.

My "dispute filer" emailed me yesterday that they received my payment just as I described. But the disputes still stood this morning. So I emailed them again asking them to remove them. This afternoon I see they did. One of them. As said, it was a combined auction for two items, two disputes filed. I emailed them again asking them to remove the second one.

Oh... and their comment? Not "Payment received as buyer stated". Noooo..."Agreed to complete transaction".

Maybe I should have posted this one in another forum so I could kick them somewhere and engage in pyrotechnics! :D

This is for BigSkyColl. This is the right ad, however, as I stated I received a Chinese knife, not a USA as advertised. The box was USA and the sheath was as stated. Clear?

sorry tgnathe, I thought this was in reference to the picture Trent Rock put in post # 3sorry my mistake.
