I posted one of these scans earlier in the topic "Native sheath." There was so little comment that I thought maybe nobody was noticing it because the topic didn't have the word "scan" in it. So I'm trying again! If nobody says anything this time I will know you are trying to be polite! The first picture shows both together. As I said in the other topic, the depth of the sheath makes it a little difficult as far as focus and lighting. So the second one is a close up of just the sheath taken from the rear where it is flatter. It is much easier to see what the pattern really looks like. It is a very secure sheath. I have several knife friends who are now thinking about ordering one.

Gregg,
Great scan, this is the first time I really got a good look at the BFN, Is the blue the same shade that the scan shows? I saw a picture of the BFN before and thought that it was the worst color I ever saw. The one in your scan look's great! Ive been thinking about getting a sheath like that for my Military.

The blue of mine is much lighter, more of a sky blue.

OK, I did another scan. How's this:

Regarding the actual color blue of the knife. I went and got it and held it up to the screen. Everyone's screen is going to display slightly different colors (one of those things that is still highly variable). The real knife is lighter than the posted scan. It is kind of a matte blue, not a neon blue. Sky blue sounds too light to me. I think of sky blue like the blue at the top of each topic. The one that has the words topic etc. printed in it. It is much darker than that. But it is lighter (and less purple) than the ads for bladeforums.com auctions. Everybody I showed it to really liked the color.

Speaking of the blue handles reminds me of the only real criticism I have of the design. This is my first Native but I find the hole to be slightly difficult to access because it is partially hidden by the G-10 (which is full thickness right there). It isn't a big deal but I am thinking about it when I go to open it. Some of you guys with Dremels have probably modified the standard Native if it has the same problem. In a strange way it is probably more of a problem if you carry the knife with the conventional pocket clip. Then your thumb has to come over the G-10 and then down looking for the hole. Deployment from the sheath involves grabbing by the hole with your fingers from the side opposite the G-10. This feels more secure.

And, yes, it is one sharp knife. I appear to be missing hair on both arms from demonstrations to onlookers.

Hey, that looks just like my knife!!!

Great pics Gregg, maybe they'll spark some interest in folks who are sitting on the fence.

Thanks Gregg, I'm going to turn your scans into a screen saver so I can imagine what my knife will be like when it finally finds its way to me

Don't worry that the world might end tomorrow....in Australia it's tomorrow already.

This is torture, plain and simple. I want to get one of these but I've limited myself to no more knives until I've managed to swell my bank account a little, and a $100 is definitely out of the question

. Oh well, you guys that were lucky enough to get one enjoy them, thats what they were made for. And tulsamal, great scans, they really show off a nice knife well.

Just because I talk to myself doesn't mean I'm crazy. What's wrong with getting a second opinion?
