Scandi grind edge retention vs blade thickness

My thoughts on Scandi bevels, blade thickness, and edge retention. This applies mostly to Scandi bevels since I don't discuss shoulder thickness of secondary bevels but much will translate. If the damage doesn't go past the shoulder you won't see much advantage to a thicker blade
