Hey guys I've been looking into Getting a skandi grind knife and I'm looking to spend at the most 60$ any ideas of what knife I should get and I would like it to be carbon steel and help is appreciated thanks :)

Obvious choice is a mora. Just get a couple cheap mora models and play around with them to see if you like them.

They are carbon, scandi, and cheap.

Ive only heard good things about mora.

use one and then save for a nice scandi later.

Yes, go for a Mora. I saw one on the popular auction site for less than $10 shipped. Model 511, same as I have. You can cut off the guard to have a more traditional handle. The blade is classic Mora: Thin, Scandi grind, 1095 carbon steel, razor sharp. Works great cutting wood. Some folks will steer you to the robust model, because thicker has got to be better, right? I prefer the original thickness. It's plenty strong, and better for slicing and cutting.

Had an older Mora, but just got a Mora Companion Heavy Duty. In full disclaimer, I haven't used it at all, but it feels so much better than the original, which is still a heck of a knife for the money. Past that, some Helles mihht be in that price range if you shop around...(?)
