I'd like to send my 1st-generation Spyderco Endura off to a good bladesmith to have a Scandi grind put on it. I'm hoping that someone here could recommend a good person to send it to.
The reason is that I'm going to be traveling for 2 years, and I don't want to carry my EdgePro Apex the whole time. For some reason, I'm hopeless at free-hand sharpening, unless I have a Scandi Grind. Those I can get very sharp with just a small stone.
I know there are better folders out there, but over the years I've grown so used to the feel of the 1st-generation Endura in my hand. I tried carrying a 4th-generation for a while, but it just wasn't the same. I'm sure lots of you guys have knives you feel the same way about.
I'm leaving at the beginning of August, so a very in-demand bladesmith with a 6 month waiting list is not what I'm looking for.
Thanks for reading. If someone could point me in the right direction I'd really appreciate it.
