Alright so i got my second mora today, and its the new lime green companion. so far i've done nothing with it beyond whittling a willow branch just to mess around. Then i stumbled across this page awhile ago: http://www.bushcraftstuff.com/sharpening/is-your-mora-too-sharp/
this article says that moras come equipped with a micro-secondary bevel out of the factory. i looked at the new one, and what do you know, it does have one. then i kept reading the article. basically what i got out of it is that the mora is better designed to cut with a micro secondary because of the shallow angle of the primary grind. so with all of that being said, i am wondering 2 things: 1) Should i just sharpen this new one like i did my old one, which is the standard way of sharpening a scandi of just laying the bevel flat on the stone and sharpen the micro bevel out? and 2) if i do keep the micro bevel, should how do i sharpen it and should i make it a convex bevel or keep it flat?
When i first learned about the scandi grind, i thought it was the most incredible thing ever and thought that single bevel is the only way to go. but now, i'm starting to think that maybe the micro secondary would be good because it is stronger since i use my moras for pretty much everything outdoor related for anything from gutting deer/fish/pheasants to carving tent pegs and other bushcraft stuff.
also, if i'm considering adding micro secondaries to knives that i make, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
