This may need to be moved to another Forum, but I am looking for tips on how to maintain Scandi grind knives, mainly KOster bushcrafts and Nessies, there may be a thread already out there I dont know. I have been sharpening my scandis similar to that of a convex edge, is this bad? I cant seem to get a good razor sharp edge on them, my convex grinds I have no problem with, thanks in advance.

I have a piece of marble tile that I clip wet dry sand paper on nice and flat. start at 320 and work up to 1000 (1500 if I'm bored)

I get mine from a friend that works for an auto body shop. He has silica grit up to 2000. Most all do it yourself auto stores carry it.

i just sharpened a helle and put a convex on it for a member. i can send you pictures of an easy way to do it that will put either a convex or flat grind back on.

Where do you guys get your wet dry sandpaper?

my local ace hardware carries up to 1000 grit sometimes, when i see I grab some just in case. Norton wet dry cut better and doesn't clog as fast. If you run into a problem with the paper clogging at higher grit you can splash some water or a few drops of oil on it.
