Scanner (Radio) recomendations?

I have an old Pro-43 bought over ten years ago. I'm thinking about buying a new desktop scanner. I still kind of like the idea of a portable.

My needs

- A front end that doesn't overload to easily and is resistent to compute generated hash.

- trunking ( a given pretty much nowadays)
- > 200 channels.

- Nice if include CB Am all the way through 1300 MHZ.

- Price? $200 - $300

Anway what do you reccomend?

For a portable you may consider a Radio Shack Pro 95. 1000 channel dual trunking. You can find a lot of info on the web about them. I was able to download software and a ton of preset channels for mine that covers much of my area. I was then able to use the PC software to pick and choose frequencies I was interested in and eliminate or turn off the ones I was not such as local fast food places.
