Scans of Single Guard Project I

I purchased this "Single Guard Project I" from a fellow forumite and scanned some images of it. I noticed that the knob that retains the knife in the sheath is switched from the spine side to the blade side. I can see that there is the potential for the knob to become roughed up as the blade is removed and replaced in the sheath. There was a hole left where the knob used to be on the right hand side so I enlarged it and placed a chigago screw through to the belt loop. I found that the snap kept comming undone when I pulled the knife from the sheath when it was on my belt. I seldom wear a wide belt so this made the belt loop smaller and just right for me. I am very happy with the knife.

Hm, very unique. Was that an aftermarket modification or done in house by CRK? Just curious. From a design point of view it seems that the original with the double guard looks more balanced.

Regarding the retention knob, all the sheaths have the option to switch the knob from one side to the other. This way you have a choice to put the knife in with the edge to either side, depending on where you wear it.

Enjoy your knife!
