SCAR Blades

Seem very similar to TOPS, I would probably get a Becker Eskabar before the two you linked if I wanted a small carbon steel fixed blade just because of price. A lot of popular fixed blades are using very cheap steel and charging big prices. You can do a Google search and check out properties of different steels, recommended heat treat, and bar stock pricing.

I edc'd 1095 for a long time and it performs great, provided you don't want to cut a lot of cardboard. For slightly less money you can get an Esee Izula 2 though (and soon they're releasing the slightly smaller Candiru). Esee have the best warranty and 1095 heat treat in the business. Plus you're getting a product that is tried, tested and proven to be outstanding by many knife users.
