I have been watching the exchange for a used Mnandi for awhile and have found that they are very hard to come by. In fact, there are MANY more Sebenzas available than Mnandis at any given time. Does anyone know why this is? Are that many more Sebenzas sold than Mnandis? Do more people just keep their Mnandis?

I've wondered the same thing. I would guess that there are two reasons. First there are more varieties of Sebs, large, small, 25s, etc.... Second, a large or small seb is probably the first CRK MOST people buy and therefore there are more available. Ok, three reasons, in general sebs are more popular???? I have 7 CRKs: 3 Lg Sebs, 2 sm Sebs, and 2 Mnandis....

I would guess that Sebenzas and their varieties outsell the Mnandi at least 5-1, so there are more used Sebenzas out there.

I agree that the Sebenza is the CRK so that is the knife most people buy first. It tends to be people that get into CRK that buy Mnandis in my experience. They are also in a bit of a niche in that it's marketed as a gents knife rather than a general EDC like the Sebenza.

Plus, why would anyone sell a Mnandi?! Might get flamed for this, but my Sebenza leaves me about lukewarm- I love my Mnandi though, look, feel and sound.

Although there have always been more used Sebenzas than Mnandis available. I have noticed that Mnandis do not show up as frequently in the Exchange as they once did. I believe that since CRK revised the Mnandi, most are holding onto their older Mnandis. Likewise it does not seem that there are as many buying the new version. In past years there were not that many new ones listed on *bay, now I notice there are quite a few.

I agree that most people looking for a Mnandi probably want the old nail nick and people that have these don't want to sell them. Thus the scarcity on the exchange.

Also agree. I went so far as to purchase additional old style pivot screws, etc. I want to hold on to my desert ironwood (1st mnandi) and my Lig Vitae (2nd mnandi). They look and feel better IMO. Plus they're both users. Okay, they used to be users.
