I have a moonsong and I wiped the handles down with a tuff cloth. Couldn't believe my eyes it just seemed to wipe away all the color. It ended up looking like all the color had been removed just leaving the engraving behind. Felt sick and was getting ready to send it back to CRK when I came across a blurb on the CRK site that oil washed out the colors and to use windex to restore them. I didn't have windex but used a little dish washing soap. Sure enough the colors came back. what a relief. question now is is there any thing I can or should use on the handle? I know it's titanium and won't rust but it doesn't feel right putting it away after I've handled it and got finger prints all over it.

I use rubbing alcohol. Actually, I keep alcohol pads around. Very handy for spot cleanup. They will take surface oils like fingerprints off the titanium surface nicely.

Unless you wear gloves you are going to get oil on the handle. Don't sweat it, and just get some Windex, or as Esav has suggested, some alcohol pads.:D

thanks for all the responses. will try the alchohol pads as I've got those around and seem like they would be convenient. Actually I edc a regular sebbie already....the moonsong is just a safe queen...reminds me of my dog sorta.

Edit to add:
thanks for the tip Esav - haven't been around for a while - football and work, but it's nice hearing from you again.

I use alcohol for all kinds of stuff, besides drinking. :) As long as you're not huffing the stuff it's harmless, as in non-toxic, and is an excellent degreaser and antiseptic. I use it on knives all the time. It dries very quickly so there's no problems with corrosion like there could be with water.

I got into using alcohol pads on knives when I was in the woods and used a knife to cut braches and weeds. The plant sap can be pretty messy, but the alcohol cuts right through it, and the pad soaks it up. And when I cut up thorn branches and scratch my knuckles up, the alcopads are handy for cleaning them up, too. :)
