Earlier tonight we were under a *Tornado Warning* but we got lucky and it never really developed into anything serious and then it took a turn to the north of us.
I really feel for the folks who were in the midst of the really severe weather because they suffered hailstones so big that two of them completely covered a dollar bill!!!! :(
And the TV Network said that there were reports of a few places that had larger ones but no pix. And a lot of places that had nickel to pea sized hail.
Their homes and cars had to have taken a real beating!!!!:( :grumpy:
But the bad part is the severe storms still to the west of us that are heading our way. A tornado in one of them touched down in El Reno near Oklahoma City but the damage looked miniscule compared to what the tornados can and often do.
We're still under a tornado watch so any members in Kansas, Arkansas, and Missouri need to be on the watch for severe weather as well unless it dies down before getting that far.:(

Well... Yvsa's off the air, but I bet he has a plan. Safe room, at least.

We all live close to nature, one way or another. They'll be OK.

Mike :(

"Watcherass", and maybe secure them khuks, dont want those whipping around all over the place if worst comes about.

May the angels watch over you and yours Yvsa, prayers for y'all and everybody in the path of those storms.

time to test the khuks ON the hail stones. bleah. largest i've seen were golf ball sized. covered the yard with them. kinda cool.

i recall in germany they got 6-8" ones in a massive storm that trashed a city - millions and MILLIONS of dollars in damage to all the glass buildings and cars and ... nearly instantly.

nature is hearty and mean.

i understand they had a backwards tornado on video in that area. weird.

Well it's now 1:53 and the storms are over for us at least. I agree about the Smoke and Prayers for those still in the path of the storms east of us and in Kansas and Missouri, and Arkansas!!!!
Radar shows some big ones still!!!!:thumbdn: :grumpy: :(

We really need the rain but not all of it at once. Tulsa got 5" in areas!!!!!!!
Our power just came back on a bit ago; went out about 11:30.
And I had just bragged to Barbie that it hadn't went off this time around.:grumpy:
There's seven houses that almost always go out while everyone else's is on in the neighborhood.
However tonight there were a lot more than seven houses as the houses behind us on the dead end were out as well.
The guy that lives Kitty Cornered behind us sweats there is something big that lives in the open and partially wooded field back there that turns his security lights on.
I told Barbie to tell him it was probably a Sasquatch since one was reportedly seen in Catoosa a few years back.;) :D

Stay safe Edutsi! Sounds like you're through the worst of it though.

I remember being scared pretty good by tornado warnings a few times when I went to school out in the midwest. Especially the first one!

Sounds like it was a rough night out there. I haven't heard of any injuries or deaths. That's a good thing. Glad you pulled through it, Yvsa. It's a beyotch living with those very sudden and very violent storms. I'm not sure which is worse. The slow grinding and water damage of a 'cane or the sudden >BAM<, you're dead forces of a twister.
Smoke and prayers for all, and a very grateful shout out to the Forces That Be for watching over everyone.

No doubt a savy man such as yourself has a reasonably safe hidey hole for just such events . That doesn,t make it much easier to wait out such conditions . Keep yer head down and post us with whats happening .

Wish we did have a 'Fraidy Hole' to crawl into as I wouldn't get so excited about them. The helluvait was is that this one was headed right for Catoosa area.
We shut all of the bedroom doors and get in the hall, safest place in the house and use the couch cushions to cover up with.
It wouldn't be so bad on me either if I were in decent shape as I never used to worry about them, just took 'em in stride.
We never had to go to the hallway last night but I recall a few years back on the same day setting with Barbie in there and holding her while she was crying.
It were a bad one that year, F-5, and took out a lot of Catoosa and it was close enough so that we could hear it!!!!
Last night a funnel never completely formed out of the wall cloud but one never knows.
Actually there is more of a chance of getting struck by lightning than there is getting injured or killed in a tornado, doesn't help calm the nerves when one is headed straight for you though.:( :o I worry more about Barbie and the dog than I do about myself though, it's that old male protect your family at all costs thing ya know.:)
