This thing is really slick. Beats the EMPI trigger shifter I had hands down. Throw is short and smooth as glass. T-handle is pretty comfy and looks way cool. For all my aircooled brothers out there, it really is worth the extra $20-$30.

The only cars that I can think of off the top of my head that are air cooled are old VWs and Porsches...

... gotta get ya to throw a v8 up front and have a hurst on the console!

Sounds like a fun modification to a baja!

I had one in my daily driver beetle for several years. I highly recommend them as well, especially after you replace the shiftrod bushing and the rear shiftrod linkage.

Here's my old bug. I miss her...

was the hardest part of the whole affair, the rest was pretty painless. I wish I had a DC, I'd post some pics of my little Lucy.

I owned, at one time or another, 6 bugs. Ranged from my first, a well-used 63, to the last, a 74 convetible with that silly part-electric-part mechanical fuel injection. Thing never did run right.

On one of em' (maybe the 68 I bought new) I put in one of those Whitney shift kits. Just had a spacer and an nylon ball, as I remember, but it did result in an extremely short-throw shifter.
