Yesteday a relative gave me two used Old Timer knives; I had previously given him one of the SMKW closeouts. The first is a 34OT, lightly used and sharpened, that will be a good carrying knife. Nothing special, but it'll be a good carrying knife,

The second is a heavily used 108OT with the marking "Schrade Walden NY USA." Does this knife have any particular interest or value? The two smallest blade has been resharpened to a toothpick; someone carried and used this knife for a long time.

Best Wishes,
Bob

Bob, the Schrade-Walden tang stamping reflected the name of the corporation from 1946 to 1974. Prior to that, from 1904 to '46, it was Schrade Cuterly Co.. The most recent and last tang stamping was Schrade N.Y.USA. So the knife you have is mostly of interest because it represents Schrades 'middle' years. Yes, the Schrade Walden line up used many of the same model numbers as the more recent Schrades.

The Schrade-Walden tang stamping has been resurrected a few times in recent years, on special issue knives.

Guys, did I hit this on the head?

Thanks for the info! The date is primary what I was curious about; the rest is icing.

Best Wishes,
