I recently got an S&M Scout, and I have to say, I don't much like it. The springs are pretty stiff, except for the main blade. The other blades are too sharp. I've cut myself a couple of times trying to open and close the blades. Not fun.

I like the scout pattern, but not this knife.

you need to get rid of that piece of junk.
you can send it my way and i will brake it in for you.
i will suffer the cuts for you.
brake in will take a while.

i agree, too sharp??:confused::confused:

no such thing in my book...

do you have any pics for us to drool over?

bummer about cutting yourself...i don't mean to insult but perhaps you just need more practice closing a slipjoint? :foot:

Here you go! The little curved blade is the hardest to close, and has a very small unsharpened surface.

that is a good looking knife...

it seems to me that the short curved blade was probably made with a very strong tension on purpose. if i'm not mistaken it is a canopener blade, so it is likely that the spring on that one is tight so that the blade doesn't accidentally close while opening up a can. i could be very mistaken though, and it could just be a fluke...

Let's move this over to the maintenance/tinkering area where you may get some suggestions on how to alleviate the problems you're having with the springs. (Dulling the blades shouldn't be a problem.)
