Just picked one up, but can't take pics right now, hoepfully later. Who else has one?

Mine has stag handles. Very pretty!

Love to see the pics because I know that must be a good looking knife!

That's got a different blade than the Case/Bose Cotton Sampler right? The Case is sort of a "spey" looking blade and the S&M is kinda like a sheepsfoot, is it not?

Yes, the Cas/Bose has a rounded profile, whereas the S&M has a very angular "nose", for lack of a better term.

I'll get some pics up soon as I can. Are these knives common? I've done some searches but only pulled up one reference, the one that allowed me to identify mine.

I think the Schatt&Morgan Cotton Sampler is quite UNcommon Andy! And I think the Cotton Sample pattern is pretty rare.

I love that blade shape on the S&M, and again, can't wait to see yours.

Congratulations!

Queen made a Cotton Sampler in both the 4th & 5th regular Schatt & Morgan Reproduction Series. But never in the File & Wire Series.
In the 4th Series it is a Orange Corncob Jig Bone handle, and the 5th is Sambar Stag.

I dunno, I'm a neophyte when it comes to such things...

The box it came in does state "File and Wire Tested".

So, is that incorrect?

Thanks!

Andy

did not know about the file & wire. here are a few of mine.

Whoa... those are some weird looking blades, but I like them! :) Definitely a lot different than the Case/Bose Cotton Sampler. The stag looks great too.

The older boxes do say "File & Wire Tested" But the F & W Series is a different deal. There are 17 knives in the F & W Series. They started in 1999 or 2000 & most have ATS-34 steel blades.
Check out this site www.crisnercutlery.com He has most of the Reproduction Series & some of the newer F & W Series knives.

Hope this helps,
Dave

Cerulean, I like the knife and bought it because of the blade shape. I'm not big on folders but I do have a soft spot for wharnies and sheepsfoot blades, so this one was a natural.

Knowtracks, thanks for the info!

Awesome , I love the simple , useful blade shape.

But whats with the holes ? Are those lanyard holes ? if so the blade must cover them when closed , no ?

The holes do not look good.

They are lanyard holes. I put a pocket lanyard on mine. The blade doesn't interfere with the lanyard hole at all.
