One of these came across my radar while browsing.

ATS-34, and I like the handles. I have a F&W Wildcat Driller and love it.

Anybody got one of these?

Any Feedback?

No feedback on that particular model, but I carry an S&M every day, and it just gets better with age, its like an old friend.

I have had my eye on one of those too , I adore single blade slipjoints.

And that blade screams 'use me !'

I have this particular knife, it is a big hunk of ats-34. I wish I had a regular use for this style blade. This pattern fells very good in the hand. It has the swayback feel. But to me it is kin to a large rope knife or even a hawkbill it needs a specific purpose.
I love this pattern & have all the different ones that Queen has released. The 1 place I have found this pattern useful is in food prep. It makes a great chopper!;)

I'm waiting to get my hands on the latest release in the F&W series,
the big lockback hunter. I like the looks of the saber ground blade.

Dave,

Thanks for your observations, you helped me seal the deal.

It sounds like the Wildcat Driller...another big hunk of ATS-34, but a great cutting tool in the right time and place.

Got a link to pics to the Big Lockback Hunter?

I have one of those as well. It gets more use than any of my other pocket knives. That straight edge is great for making precision cuts, even given the large size of the blade. The most common cutting tasks that I have in my job are opening shrink wrapped plastic boxes and cutting out paper figures to go into a laboratory notebook. The part of the tang that is exposed when the blade is closed (that mates with the spring in the open position) is quite sharp and easily cuts through the thin shrink wrap on pipette tip boxes. It could probably cut thin fabric as well. The straight edge puts the tip of the blade in the optimal position to effortlessly make precision cuts. It is, however, a pocket full of knife when not in use. The wide blade, and the large amount of blade exposed in the closed position makes it much larger in the pocket than a trapper or jack knife of the same length. Although, that big blade sticking out of the handle sure makes it easy to open. The spring on mine is much more forgiving than those found on GEC knives, but it has good snap and good walk and talk. On the whole, the cotton knife that I have is not as well finished as the Northfield trappers that I own, but it is nicely finished.

The cotton sampler (like all the recent F&W releases) and the Wildcat driller are larger patterns. I wonder why Queen has gone this route. But I do like them. I do wish they would mix in some more pocketable patterns too. Something kin to the medium toothpick & the C.B. Morgan gunstock.
You can view most all the S&M releases at www.schattandmorgan.com

Good Luck,

I received this Last Thursday, and after putting it through it's paces over the weekend all I can say is...

I am really pleased with this knife.

With a minimal effort on an Ultra Fine Spyderco stone this thing is a freakin' scalpel.
It was used for a bunch of things this weekend, cutting baling twine, opening burlap and poly feed sacks, opening mail, a little food prep.

I love it, it is now in the edc rotation.

Its a very nice knife. I think for me, if I would get it, I would have to mod it to more of a swayback pattern blade. Looks like it will be a great user though. I'm glad you like it so much.

I have one as well.

It's a bit large for pocket carry - for me, anyway - but it's way too nice to sell.

A safe queen, at least for now.
