Schatt & Morgan Moose or Improved Muskrat... or neither?

For some reason, I've been on a Moose hunt recently. Both the Improved Muskrat and Moose have similar blades and I'm thinking the 'rat might be less of a burden to carry because of its smaller overall length. I'm looking for some info and thoughts on these knives. How many backsprings? How are the grinds? Would you recommend one over the other? or neither?

...P.S. I'd like to see a Kerry Hampton Moose with moose antler handles!

Search on this site for the S&M Muskrat
there was a very favourable review of it
It has two springs

I am a moose man. I have 2, I have big hands, and I like the spear and clip combo. Probably more for the coolness factor rather than functionality, either blade works fine for me.

The moose is going to be a much more substantial knife. Muskrats typically have thinish blades that will flex a bit. Schatt and Morgan (Queen) has made muskrats in both single spring and double spring arrangements. I've only handled a single spring Queen, and the blades were quite flexible. I don't know if the two spring will be any different; they may use the same blades for both.

Both!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!that is why there are many pockets on a pair of pants. The case Bose muskrat is the best production knife in 75 years ;however, i hace a schatt and love it.

Thank you for the input, guys. It was very helpful. I've never had a Moose pattern and I'm anxious for the Northfield Moose that's on the way. I think I'll like the spear and clip combo. I also love Wharncliffe blades and the Case/Bose muskrat so I may have to pick up one from Schatt and Morgan also. I didn't think about the blade flex...hmmm. "Both" is a good answer, Rick. I'm tempted! :)

I'd go with the improved muskrat. One straight edge and one bellied edge covers all bets.
