I've heard a lot of good things about Schatt & Morgan knives so I decided to pick one up. I went for the Series XIII Barlow.

This knife is very nicely made and finished in all respects. Would I say it's perfect? Well, no...but it's certainly in a league of it's own especially when compared to other slipjoints in the same price range.

I've held very few knives that feel as comfortable as this one. I only wish it wasn't so damn pretty as I'd sure hate to mess it up any!!:D

I would love to buy two but I can't since I'm after a few others in the same series as well.

I hate when I can't get everything I want.;)

I have the same knife and had the same problem. So now its a special occasion carry (weddings, etc.). Okay, it's no longer mint, but it is and will remain in excellent condition. What have I lost, maybe 10% in value/appreciation over my lifetime? It's worth it to me. Paraphrasing the wonderful signature of a frequent poster on another forum "Using my to increase the value of yours." BTW, check out the Mountainman in this series, also a very fine knife.

I haven't overlooked that one. No way!! That's #3 on my list. It's just that I want "The Wildcat Driller" next.;)

To the best of my knowledge it's 420 HC.

I've heard lot's of arguements about what Queen is using these days. I'm not sure why they'd use 420 HC on S&M's and D2 on Queen's. That sure seems strange.

I really don't care too much as I'll make up my own mind on this steels' abilities.

Sure polishes up nice though!! If that counts!! LOL!! :D
