I have had this knife few years, got from another Forum
member.....It is one of my favorites, and was wondering if anyone can tell
me how many diffrent variations of the knife were made?.....How many
diffrent type scales,colors,material,etc?...

I have seen a picture of another S/M that looked similar, but can't be sure....
Can't find the Thread it was on now....I'd love to have one of each made if I
knew what I was looking for....
Does anyone else have this knife,do you like it as much as I??....

Thanks for your comments,
JD

JD, that is Queen/S&M's #40 gunstock pattern. They have made it in both brands with single blade and, most often, as a two-blade jack.

OK,I found this photo on the Forum somewhere....I am not even sure who's photo...
I hope it's ok to share?.....
Anyway,at least I know of one more that looks like same pattern.....I want one.....
Thanks for all info, and if photo isn't OK,i'll remove it.

JD, the one in the middle there is the Keystone Series IX model from 1999. It has the pen secondary behind the main, and the clip main is in ATS-34 stainless.

The knife the OP posted is from the 3rd File & Wire Series. I forget what year they were released but I'll guess around 2005. It was released in only the bone shown. Although it is a pattern #40 from Queen, that pattern has flat lined bolsters. Which I can't recall in any other recently released Queen. The F&W Series were all released, with an exception of a few knives in the 1st Series, with ATS-34 blade steel.

I collect #40 QCC. I have only seen one other single clip #40 other than the OP. There was an SFO for a large retailer out of TN. Single clip Gold Lip Pearl. I have one at home and I'll post a pic tonight or tomorrow. If other members have or have seen other single blade examples, I'm all ears......or eyes, because I'll have to hunt one down.

Here is the only other #40 QCC single clip that I've run across. I hope others can enlighten me if there, in fact, are others out there. This was an SFO. My understanding is that this retailer had a run of these Gold Lip Pearls done by QCC. I have seen this in a copperhead pattern and I believe a Dr's knife. The blade is etched 2004 on this one. Also, the blade is ground super thin. More so than my other clip bladed 2-spring #40's.

The OP's knife is listed on Queen's site as 3 1/2". The 2 blade version on a famous dealer site is stated to be 3 5/8". Both are pattern #40. Although only 1/8", there is a difference in how the size feels in hand between these two. I prefer 3 5/8" but 3 1/2" is also quite acceptable.
So, is the 2 blade version actually 1/8" larger than the single blade ?

QCC Pattern #40's are 3.625" closed.
QCC Pattern #04's are 4.25" closed.

Both are gunstocks.
I think the #04 was created when the item descriptions went to "quart and pint" gunstocks.
