Well, I just got mine and here are some pics and my initial impressions...

First thing I felt when unboxing this knife was how classy it is. Second thing is how much blade gets carried in that sleek little handle! Home run!

Carry:
Its so easy to go overbuilt and fat with a bowie, but this knife feels relatively light in hand, and carries exceptionally well in pocket. Plenty of knife, takes up minimal pocket, deep carry wire clip...very few knives really think carry through as well as this one.

Blade:
The blade stock is also relatively thin. Here it is next to an ambitious.

This thing slices really well, as well as any other ffg spyderco for sure, and I'm interested the learn more about and adjust to using the angle and curve of the blade over time and use, but for now can't comment. So far though, LOVE the blade itself. Beauty and function in the same package to me.

Lock:
Well, that does bring me to my only dislike about this knife, that I was well aware of before I purchased it...the lock. I'm just not a liner lock guy. That said, the liner lock is executed well.

I couldn't focus the camera straight in it for some reason, so you'll have to take my word that lockup is at about 55%. No play either way and the lock is just a tad sticky which is already smoothing out.

Action:
Speaking of smooth, the action is very. It will drop easily if I push the liner but is not completely free moving, but it IS completely smooth. This is without any adjustment on my part.

Ergos:
I was a bit worried about the grip when I got this, but falsely so. The "s guard" doesn't get in my way at all, even when choking up and putting my thumb behind the blade. You can also use the guard and ricasso as a choil. its not as good as the choils on a manix dragonfly, pm2, but it works fine. I really like not choking up on this one though. The back grip just gives great control and leverage.

Kitty:

Oh yeah, kitty feels very secure with it too. Her endorsement is quite meaningful. I know, I know, you shouldn't use a knife as a weapon unless you're trained... Don't worry, she assures she is a trained edged weapons expert. I will also vouch for that.

Thanks for reading.
