Okay, so, while doing some online research on a knife I have inbound, (a Buckmaster LT 185), I ran across this company's name.
This is what I found... The Schilling Forge is located in Syracuse NY. It's parent company is Cutco, which happens to be KaBar's parent company. So, I guess it should be no surprise that the Schilling Forge is the source for forgings that KaBar uses to make their one piece forged 'Wrench Knife', (forged out of 425M stainless steel).

As for how the Schilling Forge has any ties to the Buckmaster LT 185, they supplied Buck Knives the one piece 425M stainless steel forged blanks to make them.

While reading about the Buckmaster series of knives, (both the 184 & 185), I read that the M9 bayonet blade forgings had also been supplied to Buck Knives by Schilling Forge. I don't know if forging the blade on the M9 is part of the military specifications, but they must have at least been done that way early on with some, if not all, Buck/Phrobis M9 bayonets.
Here is a picture from the Schilling web page which shows a forged M9 bayonet blade in it...

That gets me to wonder if Buck also contracted Schilling Forge to make their Buckmaster 184 Survival Knife blade blanks, or if they used another source for those?

I also wonder what other knives the Schilling Forge may have forged blade blanks for?
In any case, it's all pretty cool info that I just found out about.
I love the learning process when collecting "interesting objects"
