This knife is styled after a Jacob Schintz Bowie from the late 1800's. If you've never heard of Jacob Schintz, he was one of Michael Price's contemporaries in old San Francisco. The knife features a frame handle with takedown construction. The handle is beautiful Desert Ironwood I've had stashed away over 10 years. The frame and peened pins are nickel silver, the guard and finial are heat patinated wrought iron, and the liners and guard collar are heat patinated copper.

Additional specs
Steel is ATS-34 hardened to 59 RC
Flat ground with 1000 grit hand-rubbed satin finish
Blade is 6 1/2" and knife is 11 1/2" overall

Comments and critique are welcome.

Beautiful knife. I really like this style.
Handle looks kind of like half a dog bone.
Very clean work.

This is a very fine piece, I love well done historic renditions. In addition, supper clean and beautiful handle material.:thumbup::thumbup:

that's a sweet knife!

Really beautiful! Hadn't seen that pattern before, but it's a good choice.

Exceptionally clean looking work, with a nice choice of materials and finishes.
