Schlich's Manual of Forestry (vol. 5, 1908)

Nothing coming through at my end when I click on the link. In fact it's telling me I don't have permission to open the file.

You're right, for some reason it works only when I'm logged in with my Google account. Odd. Let me check something.

I worked as a forester for many years and have volume III. William Schlich was one of the inventers of modern forestry. I bought my volume on Ebay, they are rare at least in this country. It was autographed by Gifford Pinchot, which was a bonus not advertised by the seller. The Germans were obsessed with math in my opinion and had tasks like computing the force of a falling tree on the ground. Interesting books, at least to someone interested in the history of forestry especially the technical aspects.

Yep. All volumes are available for free online (on the "Internet Archive") now.

Not that I wouldn't prefer holding to...a dead piece of wood (paper :) ) while reading almost anything.

That's really cool to have the Pinchot autograph. The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is one of my favorite places.

Great resource, and intimidatingly large! Thanks for sharing.
