Picked these two up at the local gun show today.

From what I've seen online, looks like the Custom Shop knife is missing sheath and maybe an outer box? Does everything else look right...correct display box?

Would the Yellowhorse have been sold through Buck or YH?
Case is different than the other knife, thought it may be from something else.
Would this one be same vintage, late 80's, as the Custom Shop?

Thanks for any help, I mostl have 70's and earlier Case folders.
These two are out of my wheelhouse a little.

ElKabong, welcome to the Buck Forum. Your 1st Kalinga with a 4 digit number indicates a regular custom knife, (catgeroy 1). It may have some initials on it somewhere. The guard on that model is correct. Just the wood handle is different for that model and it has a polished blade. The box should have a sheath in the lid and it looks different than the one mine came with.
The David Yellowhorse knife is his own creation and has a different display box and his are serialized. Handsome Kalinga's, a good find. DM

As an option when you purchase a knife from the old custom shop you could purchase a wood display case. The wood box for the 1st knife is correct as an option for the custom shop kalinga.
I have quite a few that came in the same box. The same box was also used as an option for some of the other custom shop models as well. Most that came in these boxes did not have a sheath
that came with them. Just the knife and COA in the display box. The Yellowhorse knife is from the same era and the box does look like others that I have seen that have come from Buck. I believe
the knife though was most likely not sold thru Buck but I am not positive on that.

Very nice knives. The YellowHorse knife is earlier as it has the pointed guard which changed about to the blunt style about 1981.
