School me on countersinks

I recently bought some layered G10 and Im hoping to re-handle some of my production knives with it. The problem I ran into (and should have realized long ago) is that the majority of holes used in the handle scales are countersunk and therefore, the hardware from the knife needs to be countersunk in order for it to all go together smoothly.

My main question is: How are countersinks measured and identified? How do I figure out which ones I need in each particular knife?

I really appreciate any help I can get!

put the old scale on the drill press. drop the bit till it hits the bottom of the hole. lock the drill press in place. you now have your depth.

1. Included angle of c'sk standard is 82deg-90deg-120deg.

From there you just make sure your CSK diameter is bigger than what you need to end with, and you are all good. Just watch your depth.

Countersink holes are typically called out with angle, thru hole, and countersink diameter.

This.

Got it! Thanks a bunch guys!

Metric fasteners are generally 90 deg. English are generally 82.
