School me on emergency radios.

I am interested in acquiring a quality radio(s). I can't seem to find any good resources on them. Eton seems to be biggest name out there for portable emergency radios, however after reading a lot of the user reviews on the different models, they seem to be hit or miss as far as quality goes. I don't want to store a radio away for years, only to find out there is only a small chance it will actually work for me when I need it. I am wanting a radio to keep at home in the event of a black-out or other emergency, but need something reliable. Anybody have any input?

Eton is really the only brand in that genre I am aware of, though there are surely others. I have an Eton hand crank flavored emergency radio which has performed well for several years. I don't know that I would actually need it, as I have 3 generators, tons of battery chargers, etc., but its good to have. And its portable.

I have the dynamo Grundig, same as Eaton but doesn't have the cell phone charge ability... been through the last 10years of hurricane seasons, rechargable batteries still seem to be OK when tested this year
