ok so I'm trying to acquire a Terzuola..

ATCF, TTF-3A, MK1....what's the difference in the models?

yes I see that various blade grinds and steels have been used over the years, yes I see the bolsters and scales vary, yes I see most are liner locks but some are frame locks.
but in general the style and design of the Terzuola knife models seem to be the same look?

help me, what am I missing? I'm trying to understand the differences in his models, I see mostly similarities.

thanks

Never owned one, so this wont be much help but I believe it just comes down to personal preference in terms of blade grinds and designs. I would assume all are made with the same materials and would pretty much carry the same.

Not clear what your true question is.

Of course his knives look alike, since he designed and built them. One other thing that is common to them all is excellent fit/finish. He has basic designs that he adds embellishments for different looks and prices. For example, the base ATCF is Ti liners and slabs, no bolster. You can add a bolster and any handle material, you can add a fuller, you can have a dagger ground blade, you can get it as a frame lock. All variations on the same theme.

He also gets the maximum amount of blade into a handle and his balance point is perfect. His ergonomics are very good, no hot spots. All of his knives can take a beating. He does not do catalogs or have a website. I ordered mine and got the best price, someone recently said he's stopped taking orders. To me this is unusual, since he's taken orders for ever, maybe he's scaling back.

ok a more direct question - what's the difference between and MK1 and an ATCF

Can't answer your direct question (since I don't own a MK1 or a ATCF), but here's a pic of my Terzuola folders:

Top to bottom:

Eagle Rock model (mammoth, damascus & mokume)
Model 7 (mammoth ivory)
Model 7 (walrus ivory)
Century Starfighter (TNK exclusive edition)

Kind regards,

Jos

I don't know the MK1 either. I have an ATCF and was looking for a companion knife, but smaller. When I asked Bob if he had any literature, pictures, etc. of his different models, since I did not know his full line, he said go to the internet and he listed some dealers (e.g. TNK). He does not have anything related to "marketing" since he can enjoy life and sell his output w/o it.

He's a nice guy. His e-mail address as of 4 years ago is: terzuola@earthlink.net
