Hey everyone. I'd love to simply call Spyderco on Monday but I'm guessing most of the US is shut down tomorrow. With that said, I could really use some help from the knowledgeable members here.

I'm in an automotive specific mechanical engineering program, and have a project due very soon (at least the written part). It doesn't have to be car related, but it is on a specific material of our choice (high-tech, explain it's manufacturing process and uses, etc).

Anyway, I'm doing it on G10 and would appreciate some help in finding as much detailed info as possible. If you need me to be more specific, please post or PM. I'm looking for anything from testing strengths to specific recipes to you-name-it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jim

Check with the manufacturer, rather than companies who use it, I would guess. It's called Garolite, although I think that may be kind of a generic term and I wasn't able to Google a manufacturer, although I only looked at the first page of results. This is what reference librarians are for...

Garolite is micarta sold or made by McMaster Carr, I think Westinghouse or GE makes G-10

G-10 isn't being made much any more, and has ben replaced with FR-4, which is the same thing, only fire retardent.
I searched for "Mil-I-24768/27 GEE-F", which will give you a bunch to read.
Here's one table of specs.
Hope that gives you some info that will help.
