School

Well, my daughter started Kindergarten a couple weeks ago, and is already complaining about going to school. She doesn't seem to realize that she still has it pretty darn good. I wish I got recess and nap time while "on the job".

My daughter started kindergarten last week as well and loves it. She hasn't complained one bit. But then again, how can you complain about snack time, playing, and eating paste? :p

It's a boring time now. I'm still looking for a job. This is the first time i haven't had to go to classes or at least do some studying. Everyday me and my wife argue about what to eat for lunch and dinner. Everyday we just sit on the couch and just watch tv. I'd like to at least go out or something but have to be on the alert since my wife is 38 weeks pregnant and is due real soon. So it's staying at home and accompanying her.

I WISH I HAD CLASSES. Next week me and my wife enrolled in a short course in the university near here on employability. Get some tips on job seeking and interview techniques etc. That'll be my highlight of the month.

I LOVED school. They tell you what to do. You do it. If you do a good job, then you get positive reinforcement, ie, grades. They tell you to do something else. You do it...

Exams were usually pretty challenging which made them more enjoyable. You'd walk away with a feeling of accomplishment. Professors would call you out in class and question you about the reading materials, you respond and they sometimes offer new insight. Sometimes you even get a good debate out of it. :)

THE REAL WORLD:

You do something right, so what? That's what you're supposed to do. Office politics, I've never been very diplomatic about cliques. Bosses who contantly try to assert their power over you because they're the boss and they have self-esteem issues. Bosses who nitpick nonsense to make themselves feel more important. Bosses, bosses, bosses... Hey, I need to hang my own shingle. :D

That about sums it up.

I have been thinking about another degree (at 50) maybe English this time instead of math or IT. I never was good at spellin' just cypherin'.;)

Seriously, I worked through an expensive school was broke all the time and was on a first name basis with everyone in the bursar's office and got out with zero debt. - best years of my life!

My kids just started 5th and 6th grades. I would be relishing having the house to myself, but I just started a new job last week. I don't have a lot of pity for the kids complaining about school after I wake up at 5, hop on the bus at 6, get to work at 7:30, work till 4, and wait for an hour for the bus to show up to get me back home just shy of 12 hours after leaving.

I'm halfway through the quarter already.

Those admin bastids (not BF bastids :D ) F*ed my schedule so the order of classes I usually have is all different; I got math first thing in the morning now. :barf: Plus this is my second time around in that class, so I'm pretty much wasting my time. I don't even need credit this semester so I guess I can go to school late(not that I would).

NOOO! I'm still paying off my English degree for approximately another fiive years! HUGE waste of money. The only good thing I got from it was a good internship with Highlights for Children magazine, but that's only good to show on my resume. I spent the past three years sharpening knives! :p

Highlights!! I love those hidden picture pages. Gary and Caroline Meyers have really provided a valuable educational tool to many American children, unlike their very unlikable sibling "Mike Meyers". Every family has one.

Yeah, I still love the place (and the magazine, lol.) :) They are located in my hometown. They offered to hire me back after college, but weren't able to pay me enough... I may reapply, but I'm not sure that's what I'm going for right now.

School started about a week ago and is boring. Anyone else have school start recently?
Wait until you work for the man boy...everyday he is in your cubicle busting your balls about something you have no control over...the stress will make you do things you never imagined....you will dream of being bored at school...

Yep, started yet another semester of college, and it is somewhat boring. My business law professor has the worst teaching style I have yet to see. I was sitting next to a girl today that couldn't stop talking about how boring the class is!

My wife started teaching again a couple of weeks ago. No more timely meals...

I started Grade 10 last week. I like school, so much great and funny stuff happens! I do do well in school, have good friends so I have a good time. Yes, it can be boring at times, but think of all the great times you have, say...in Chemistry when accidents happen! :D :p
