Schrade 100th Anniversary Bowie, special edition.

WOW!!! nice looking knife, but the price is already $400 over my budget! seems like is seen a thread on here once about them, but i cant tell u anything about it. but, if u get the knife, i will happily store it for u in my collection! good luck if u go after it.

It's very coincidental to me that all the "special" knives we talk about here mysteriously come up for auction on ebay soon after....

Or the knives that are cover knives on price guides or listed as ultra rare in Levines show up, out of the blue.

What are the odds???

I agree, tread lightly, indeed. ;)

such as the 2OT?? I STILL NEED ONE OF THOSE!!! so what do ya'll think of the 100th anniversary knife? i am confused. is it a fake?? i have seen fake case knives before, a guy was taking rough riders and making them into the case brand. could this "schrade" be a fake?

kris

AH-HA!!! i read the whole auction again! these were not produced by schrade, but they are made out of parts "found" in the schrade facility and put together via contract by some custom knife maker huh?? so this is not a real schrade. there is only 48 of them made?? hhmmm, thats wierd! i am sure that i have seen 48 of them since i joined this forum, unless someone is using "recycled" pics. but what the hell, if one of u guys wanna buy it for me, i will take it, maybe then i can trade for the elusive 2OT!!

The knife blade came out of the schrade closeout ,But was not put together in the schrade usa factory ! My guess is either bear & sons or someone in pa. put these together. That is what I heard! Blue Ridge had these about week ago for 475.00
See ya Randy

Pretty small sized handle for such a big blade. Not a very handsome knife to me. Just my take.

u are right, it does look kinda out of whack, but the thing that gets me is, can it relly be called a schrade? i dont know. but that price gets me!! WOW!! if i had that kinda money to blow, i would be on a safari in africa right now, not working in this dump!! anyway, when schrade closed and there were some knives like this assembled elsewhere, how can u tell?? is there a way to tell if it is "original" schrade, or one slapped together by a imposter?

Another knife, this is being sold I think buy the original seller that I saw on e-bay a week or so ago, this time there seems to be a catalogue with the very same knife in it, does anyone know, did Schrade produce a catalogue for custom knives and if the knife was only for executives would it be published in a catalouge. has anyone seen this catalogue style before.

Im with hal, and the fireman, if you buy it for me I'll trade it but It isint something I think I'd ever have any desire for. I think its as ugly as a mud fence... blaaaah-Joel

The Seller of the above Knife is the best I have ever encountered on Ebay and I have purchased maybe 200 schrades from him so far. He has stated absolutely clearly in my opinion the origins of this knife and I believe his statements 100 % which is also why he has 100% feedback record in well over 1000 transactions.
Hey, I got chastised for discussing a current auction when I didnt even raise the thread question previously. Do you guys set the rules as you go to suit yourselves??

I am trying to find out if anyone else, among all who visit here know anymore than the vendors are telling us about the knife in question, with all the mainframe of knowledgeable Schrade history, I thought others could shed more light on this item and the catalogue as described. I have not been out to hang draw and quarter the sellers by any means, I know some other posts have got out of hand with regards to the credability of the sellers. I thought the idea was to discuss these things, so if and when somoene wanted to go out and get the item they would feel more positive about the purchase.

guys, lets not call each other out in a duel. yea, the guy did make a honest decription of the knife, but for dumb-butts like myself, who dont know alot about history and sub-contracting of knives and such, the question isnt the sellers integrity, its just the history of the knife, and the "assemblers" of the knives. i think rusty1 was just wondering about the origins of these knives, not out to question the seller or anything like that. i admit i dont jack about alot of these blde companies or anything else along those lines. to me, a knife like the one this thread is about is a work of art, not a user, so i wouldnt seriously be intereted in having it. but, it is a schrade, and since the schrade of yesterday is left in the last week, i am curious about any history of developmen of any USA schrades.

as for the rules of the mentioning of auctions, i wont go there. my dog aint int hat fight, i just wait on u fellas to buy'em, then i try to beg'em off ya!! haha!!

larry, i love reading your posts, and i do dearly miss your humor my friend. come on home to the forum and lets leave the past where it should be. life is to short to be diplomatic, i consider u a friend and as a friend, i am asking u, with much respect, lets bury the ole koala chopper and get back to normal. u like me are full of piss and vinegar, hell we are all like that because we are all obsessed with little pieces of steel, so lets get things back on track and buck the bull again! hoo-roo larry, hoo-roo my friend!

The catalog asked about above is the Speciality Knives #13 catalog that Blue Ridge Knives mailed out a couple of weeks ago with pictures of all the knives they purchased from collections and other places for resale. Usually send them out once a year. The page displayed in the auction referenced above was all Schrade stuff. Another page has all Randall knives, or Case pocket knives on another, or custom made folders, or custom fixed blades, or Sebenza's, or Yellowhorse stuff.
