I recently acquired a USA Schrade "Pal" 12OT, and have carried it around the house today, and really liked it. But I am afraid that I will lose it, or break it. Are there any alternatives out there? It's basically a singled bladed Peanut. The only single bladed peanut that Case offers is a zytel camo handle, and i'm not to crazy about it. So what else is there?

I say use what you have but if you are really concerned get another as a backup. There's one on ebay now for a buy it now price of under $40.

Yeah I figured most people would say that. But I don't really want to carry it to much because I dont want to lose it or anything. I really like how slim this knife is, that's why I havn't just gone back to my Case Peanut. Then again, maybe I should just go back to it.

I believe that Moore Maker currently offers one. Also, it will take some searching but Case has offered the occasional single-bladed peanut in the past. ETA: Forgot about the Buck Solo - it's a tiny bit larger at around 3" but it may fit your needs as well.

Buy a second one.

There are four buy it now USA models for 35 and change. You might want to consider the open stock 272 as well. Those can either be two bladed or single bladed.

I totally forgot about the Buck Solo. But would it be as slim as my 12OT?

Bear and Sons makes one, I seem to be in the minority of people who like their knives.
I believe they make the Moore Maker model.
