Hey Dale (Orvet), I finally snagged my 206 Barlow. Check out ebay # 270011862757 and let me know what you think. The rest of you guys are welcome in on this as well. As I recall, Dale has a thing for Barlows ( and all other Schrades). I just wondered if I did good at $28.01 including shipping.

Nice buy Paul!

The price is pretty good considering I paid about $22 last year with shipping. I haven't seen as many around lately. They don't seem to be as plentiful as they were last year. I think the price has been going up on these. I haven't really followed them lately, but that is the impression I get from the ones I have seen. I think you did good on that one. I like the 206 a lot because it looks a lot like bone, but is more durable with the Derlin handles on it. It will make a nice user or collectors piece either one. I haven't used my 206 because I have user 506 (the one w/o serial the #).

I have a 206 like yours, a 506 scrim with a retriever pup & a duck on it, and 2 GDBI which are really cool. One of them has a serial number and engraved back springs.

I got a 10OT, Ulster Barlow (Prince Albert) the other day for $22.18 with shipping. I think I got jerked on the shipping as the knife was only $9.99. See ebay # 250011555264. I am still waiting for it to get here.

Keep up the good work Paul. I almost called you the other day, I can't remember what time you said you get back from coffee. :)

I have a knife I want you to make a sheath for as soon as I get it finished. I had some others I was doing for someone, and I am on the downward slide on them finally. I will have them completed in a few days. The last knife is a hidden tang, kind of a fighter pattern, and I am making a mortise & tendon type handle. Well, the Dremel tool slipped and buried the router bit at the base of my thumb and I screwed up the handle. So I started on another handle, & it looks great! I got down to the 800 grit sandpaper and found a small crack in the wood. It didn't show up until the really fine dust from the 800 grit got into it. So I went to Portland to Gilmer Wood today, and got some more matching wood. I am almost done with the rough out of the handle for the third time. (Third time is the charm :D and it went much faster). So, when I finish these I will get on the knife I want you to do a sheath for. It is the first knife I have made from a bar of steel, (usually I get blanks), did stock removal and sent it out to be heat treated. It is a camp/utility knife with a large Wharncliffe type blade. Since it is a special knife (to me), I figure it deserves a special sheath. :D :D

Kudos on the 206

I'll be looking forward to the wharncliff. I really like doing those blades because you can make the sheath talk to the knife. That handle should have gone faster the third time....you had it memorized by then. Whenever you're ready just let me know. It's been a pretty good year so far. I passed the 300 mark on shipped sheaths about the 1st of June, but I had a couple of really big orders in that mix.

Paul

Edited to add; I'm back from coffee about 0800 your time (1000 here).
