Schrade 881Y date?

Check the tang stamp.
If it is a Schrade Walden it is pre 1973. If it is a Schrade NY USA, it is probably 1973 to 1976 (approximately for an end date in that stamp). I'm not sure when the NY stamp ended, and it varies from pattern to pattern. Some patterns did not use the NY designation at all.
After that, the 881Y was stamped Schrade USA until 1986, when production on the 881Y ended.
